Privacy Commissioner report on Individual Client Level Data

The Privacy Commissioner has reported back on the Ministry of Social Development’s collection of Individual Client-Level Data from NGOs.

The report strongly urges the government to implement recommendation one:

Recommendation one: MSD should consider alternative methods for accomplishing its goals such as having the information collated and analysed by Statistics New Zealand in the Integrated Data Infrastructure

We encourage everybody to have a read of the report, it is well written and clearly written and lays out the many issues and the Commissioner’s view on each.
