YWCA of Dunedin seeking new members

Do you enjoy working for young people?

Are you interested in working for an organisation that empowers women?

Are you passionate about ensuring that young women’s voices are heard?

Would you like to do something about issues concerning young women in NZ?

If the answers to the above questions are important to you, then here’s your chance to make a difference.  The YWCA of Dunedin currently has space for new Members including a Treasurer, Secretary and Board Members.

Any woman who is committed to making a difference in our community is encouraged to apply.

This is an exciting opportunity to empower young women in your community and in New Zealand.  You will meet other like-minded women, learn new skills and prepare for your future! You will be part of a globally linked organisation with a rich history.  More importantly, you will join a team of dedicated volunteers in a positive learning environment, giving you experience in governance, networking and advocacy.

The YWCA has been part of every major change for women since the Dunedin YWCA was established in 1878 as the first YWCA of the Southern Hemisphere. Countless women leaders over the last century owe their leadership training to the YWCA of Aotearoa New Zealand.

Today the Young Women’s Christian Association of Aotearoa New Zealand (YWCA of Aotearoa New Zealand) is one of the broad-based women’s organisations in New Zealand.  The YWCA is an international movement with more than 25 million members from over 100 countries.  It is sustained by a diversity of beliefs, faiths and values and works towards social, political, economic and emotional well being of women.
