The named mentors are:
Alan Shanks, currently acting CEO of COSSD, has 13 years’ professional experience providing support to community organisations. Prior to this he worked as a legal executive, bank executive and manager in the commercial sector. Alan holds a Graduate Diploma in NFP Management and a Priory Vote of Thanks, St John’s highest ward for service to administration. Has held governance positions for a number of community organizations and a School Board Trustee over the past 45 years. Currently a trustee for the Saddle Hill Foundation Trust and a committee member for MS Otago.
Alan’s particular skills include financial management and governance.
Rob Tìgeir has been working with community led organisations for the past decade specialising in governance, compliance, innovation, sustainability, marketing, asset acquisition and business development. With work experience ranging from being head chef of an award winning restaurant to local authority and civil service he has a good grasp of business and management and the wider influences we face as a sector. He holds a social science BSc from the University of Edinburgh where he focussed on Social Policy. Rob has a soft spot for KPIs.
