The White Paper for Vulnerable Children is on track to be released in October 2012.
The White Paper and the associated Children’s Action Plan will set out key actions Government will take alongside families and communities to improve the lives of vulnerable children. It will lay out a way forward for better protecting them.
The paper will be informed by the submissions that were made to the Green Paper for Vulnerable Children.
A summary of submissions were recently released along with over 600 full submissions from various organisations.
The Green Paper was written to spark debate among the public and professionals and thousands of people took part in the consultation through 68 public meetings from Kaitaia to Invercargill and by making submissions via mail, email, online surveys, and even on Facebook.
This process resulted in almost 10,000 submissions made by non-government organisations, community groups and members of the public including over 2,000 children.
All submissions were read, analysed and collated as officials and experts across government agencies developed the White Paper.
