INTIMATE SUPPORT

This is any support given to a person that involves any skin contact or that that person finds to be of an intimate nature.

 

Topics covered will include:

  • Understanding the difference between personal care and intimate support
  • Keeping safe…for everyone!
  • What is good practice
  • Understanding sexuality
  • Maintaining dignity

 

Presenter Claire Ryan. Claire is highly regarded for her work in this specialised area.  She is the National Services Manager for Manawanui and has been working in the disability sector for over 30 years. She has had vast experience in the development, delivery and assessment of training within the disability sector.

Who should attend:

Support staff & family members who provide care of a personal nature to disabled people.
