Arai Te Uru Whare Hauora is requesting applications for the position of Social Work Manager. Please note that this position is fixed term, part-time. As the Social Work Manager you will need to be registered and have a well-grounded Social Work practice background with the appropriate post graduate qualifications.
A strong commitment to professional development and whanau/family quality care is desirable.
Experience in working within Māori environments e.g. NGO’s, Māori Providers and communities, tikaka and Te Reo an advantage. The ability to work effectively in a wide range of cultural settings is preferable.

Arai Te Uru Whare Hauora’s aim is Whānau Ora – supporting Whānau to develop their own strengths and resilience.
Dunedin Curtain Bank are on the hunt for a superstar Manager/Coordinator for our rapidly developing charity.
The successful applicant will be confident in immersing themselves in the community and developing the service further. The role includes marketing, liaising with referrers and the public and sourcing funding and fundraising opportunities. Alongside this is the general day to day running of the service and coordination of staff and volunteers.
This role is for 30 hours a week with an opportunity for flexibility across the week. You will be supported by an enthusiastic Board of Trustees and other community services committed to warming up our local community.

This is a varied position as our services include crisis intervention, emergency accommodation, outreach services to Eastern and Northern Southland and West and South Otago, women’s and children education programmes and working with families who are transitioning to living free from violence.
The ideal candidate would need to have:
- A relevant social service degree or be working towards one
- An understanding of the dynamics of family violence
- An understanding of and commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi
- Clear professional boundaries
- Non-judgmental manner
- Ability to exercise sound judgement
- The ability to work independently and part of a team
- Full clean driver’s licence

Youth Coordinator – Dunedin

Social Worker – Permanent Full Time
We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker to join our client services team supporting former refugees to resettle in New Zealand.
This position provides comprehensive assessments, social work support and settlement support to refugees resettling in New Zealand to regain control of their lives.
In this role you will:
- Provide effective case management and coordination of crisis support
- Provide comprehensive assessments, social work support, counselling and skills development services to clients
- Maintain communication with volunteers alongside the volunteer coordinator to assist volunteers on placement
- Attend community meetings and network groups as required
- Provide public education and raise awareness with local mainstream service providers on best practice work with refugee clients

This is a position for an experienced Social Worker and an opportunity to really make a difference for children and their families in Dunedin.
You will have a working knowledge of the CYP+F Act 1989 and ability to take a lead role in delivery of the agency social work services.
