Race Relations Day marks the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, which is celebrated around the world. The 2016 theme for New Zealand is “Welcoming Diversity – Nau mai, haere mai, whakatau mai ra.”
This year, Dunedin Multi-Ethnic Council is once again hosting the Race Relations Day at the Toitu Otago Settler’s Museum. The event will be held on Sunday 20th March from 1pm to 4pm.
There will be a Migrant Expo on display at the Josephine Foyer of the museum, stage performances by different cultural groups, and a talk on Syria in the Auditorium. A potluck (shared) meal of delicious home-cooked dishes will commence at 2:30pm.
