The Dunedin Council of Social Services/Connect South like to invite everybody to our AGM at 12:30pm on Wednesday 27th September 2017 at Alexander McMillan Room, Dunedin Community House.
The business includes the motion: That the name of the society is changed from “The Dunedin Council of Social Services Incorporated” to “Connect South Incorporated”, trading as Connect South.
Our guest speaker is Colette Ryan. Colette will talk on the benefits of Trauma Informed Care for all organisations.
Trauma Informed Care (TIC) has been widely implemented as a means of minimising restraint in mental health services but its benefits can go far beyond this.
TIC gives us a thorough understanding of the profound neurological, biological, psychological and social effects of trauma and violence on individuals, on families and within communities.
Colette is a Nurse Educator who originates from Scotland and is employed by the Southern DHB.
